Behati Prinsloo, a cute name for a cute girl!

Behati Prinsloo has a good photogenic face and a nice body, which means that she is just like hundreds of other cute models. But the one thing that sets Behati apart from other models is her sparkling personality, which comes through in her photos. It's like you expect her to burst out laughing while she's walking the catwalk! Behati always looks like she's really enjoying herself and having fun.

Behati Prinsloo was discovered by Sarah Doukas, and her daughter Noelle, of the Storm model agency. Sarah Doukas had also discovered the famous model Kate Moss.....so when asked what she is looking for when she spots a new face Sarah Doukas said, "It's bone structure, the height, the look, but also it's just sort of... a feeling. I remember looking at Behati on the veranda, the way she talked. She's got so much life in her, such a strong personality. And because she grew up in Namibia, she's seen a lot. Just the whole atmosphere of her was stunning. We immediately sent her to Mario Testino; then she became Vogue's girl of the season. It all took off for her. I just think she'll transcend trends of modelling; she looks like the real thing"
Yes Behati does have a strong personality and good looks, but what is more interesting about this girl is her background. Her surname Prinsloo is of Dutch origins but she is not a beautiful Dutch girl, because Behati's ancestors migrated to southern Africa in the 17th century.
The countries of South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, all close neighbors have a large population of European immigrants, who settled in these lands during the colonial era. The European people in Namibia and South Africa now have their own language called Afrikaans, which is derived from Dutch, but they also speak English because their countries were once part of the British Empire.
Behati Prinsloo was born May 16, 1989 in a small town of Namibia. In an interview with The Telegraph newspaper Behati says, "I'm from a really small place in Namibia. There is no cinema, no club, there is only one school and everyone knows everyone's business. They have a couple of supermarkets and a few clothing stores. It’s a really big country and everything is so far apart; between the different towns there is nothing."
The big open spaces in Namibia also contain wildlife. This is where the attractive Marlice runs her wildlife farm.
Behati Prinsloo was tall as a girl, towering over the boys in her school, and this is why many people in her home town thought she should be a model. But Behati herself was not interested in modeling: "Some girls dream all their lives about being a model but it wasn't something I'd thought about. The only magazines we have in my village are Cosmopolitan and Sports Illustrated. We all heard of Vogue but never saw it. I didn't even know who Kate Moss was until someone showed me a picture of her and said she looks like me. Then I started noticing her everywhere I looked and I loved her style."
As a child Behati dreamed of being a dermatologist or an air hostess, the latter profession would have given cute Prinsloo the opportunity of traveling the world and experiencing a lot of things....and of course now she is doing exactly that with modeling!
Although Behati says she loves her home and the neighboring country of South Africa, where she goes on holidays with her friends and family. Although in her Telegraph interview Behati also said, "I only know of one famous person (from SOuth Africa) Charlize Theron, the actress. There aren't any famous models from South Africa!"
Didn't she know of Supermodel Candice Swanepoel? Or the brunette Jenna Pietersen?
Another interesting thing about Behati is that her father is a pastor! For this reason Behatis says she will never do nude/topless photos: "I know there are some things not to do because he wouldn't approve of it and he trusts me not to, like being naked in a shot——my whole town would disown me!"
Behati Prinsloo has been modeling since 2005 and was featured as one of the top ten models in Style.com the very next year. She has done campaigns for Kurt Geiger, H&M, Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, etc. Behati has also walked the catwalk for Prada, Chanel, Lacoste, and Louis Vuitton. She has appeared in magazines like British Vogue, Italian Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar.

Henry Holland released a collection in Feb 2007, where the T-shirts had slogans about each model. And very raunchy slogans they were: Wham Bam Thank You Stam, Give us a back hander Rachel Alexander, I'll show you who's boss Kate Moss, Let's play naked twister Linda Evangelista! Behati's slogan was: Fancy a screw, Behati Prinsloo? Wonder what her dad thought about that??
So while Behati Prinsloo will never be nude, she has appeared in swimsuits.
Recently Behati replaced Supermodel Giselle Bundchen in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. She has also appeared in the Victoria's Secret Pink, the lounge wear brand of the company featuring sweats, PJ's, and underwear.

Behati is famous for her backstage antics like suddenly breaking into a dance, making faces, and goofing around with her model friends like Coco Rocha, Hana Soukupova, Hilary Rhoda, Julia Dunstall, Magdalena Frackowiak, Rachel Alexander, and Suvi Koponen. In some ways she's still very girlish though almost 20 now!
