I came across this strange video on a website where out of the woods came Jamie Lynn Spears and boyfriend Casey on a raging ATV. It was rumored that Spears was 6 months pregnant at the time of the footage. Apparently, both parents were not that concerned with the 6 month fetus in the mothers womb. This is definitely a blatant disregard for safety, and responsibility in driving and owning an All Terrain Vehicle. There are laws defining the driving of quads on regular roads, and it is expected of ATV owners to practice safety measures while driving a quad bike to protect themselves, the passengers, and other people on the streets.
As to how safe or dangerous operating an ATV is, is still in dispute as of this moment. Some people point out numerous injuries and accidents linked with quad rides, but these incidents have also been pointed as a result of disregard to safety measures and non compliance of generally accepted security precautions that should have been followed.
Are you aware that in the UK and some countries, if you happen to meet the legal requirements you can actually drive a quad on public freeways?
There is the compliance with requirements of the road traffic act of 1988 in terms of road tax, insurance and MOT.
Furthermore, the driver needs to have a full valid UK car driving license. Apparently, driving the ATV on the streets is not considered childs play by the authorities.
You need to register the vehicle with the DVLA. Furthermore, the ATV needs to comply with traffic requirements as well. It shall be equipped with lights, horn, speedometer, road mirrors and will need to be on road legal tires.
There are many road legal ATV models that one can choose from. At any time, any model, and any terrain, we recommend one very important thing. When on a quad, always wear a helmet.
Considering a 6 month fetus’s security is a must. Although driving an ATV maybe considered extremely dangerous by some people, we can always make it safer if we follow all the safety measures and precautions that have been placed. After all, these measures were devised for our security.
